Field Day

The John Seaton Anderson Turfgrass Research Facility near Mead
(25 minutes west of Omaha - Driving directions below)

7:30 - 8:00 a.m. Registration, coffee and rolls, sponsored by United Seeds, Inc.
8:00 - 8:15 a.m. Opening Remarks
8:30 - 11:00 a.m. Herbicide drift injury on ornamentals, Lowell Sandell
  Options for weed control in spring seedlings, Matt Sousek
  Fertilizer update, Roch Gaussoin
  White grub control, Fred Baxendale
  Herbicide update, Zac Reicher
  Low maintenance species, Tom Voigt
  Summer annual broadleaf weeds, Chris Proctor
  Water conservation / Irrigation issues, John Fech, Scott Dworak
  At each station a twenty minute presentation will be given, with ample time for questions from the experts
11:00 - 12:00 p.m. Lunch, Gourmet Hotdogs, prepared by B & E Catering, Wahoo, NE
11:30 a.m. - ?? Rotary spreader distribution test - Bring your walk behind rotary spreader & favorite fertilizer & we'll check the distribution pattern
  PDU / CEU Credits will be available through GCSAA

Cost:

Preregistration before July 30 includes lunch:

  • $20.00 / person for members of NTF, NGCSA, OGMA, & NNLA
  • $25.00 / person for non-members
  • $30.00 / person on the day of the event

On-site registration will be accepted but will NOT include lunch

Directions to the John Seaton Anderson Research Facility:

FROM OMAHA: Travel west on Hwy. 92 to Mead. A green Univ. of Nebraska Agricultural R & D Center sign is located just east of Mead. Turn south (left) onto Road 10 and travel to Avenue H
(approx. 4 miles). Turn east (left) and travel 1 mile to CR 9. Turn north (left) and Field Day is approximately ½ mile north on the west (left) side of the road.

FROM LINCOLN: At exit 403, take Hwy. 77 north through Ceresco. Just North of Swedeburg, turn east (right) at the green Univ. of Nebraska Agricultural R & D Center sign. Travel on Hwy 66 for about 6 1/2 miles. Turn North (left) on CR 10 and turn east (right) on Avenue H. Turn east (left) and travel 1 mile to CR 9. Turn north (left) and Field Day is approximately ½ mile north on the west (left) side of the road.
